Longtime client Presidential Restaurant Group has announced that it will open a new restaurant in mid-fall 2015 in DC’s Shaw neighborhood. The Washington Post and Washingtonian Magazine both announced that Presidential Restaurant Group’s third Washington, DC restaurant Declaration is set to open in mid-fall 2015 in the neighborhood’s warehouse-modernist 2030 8th Street at Atlantic Plumbing building.
The friendly, farm-to-table cuisine planned for Declaration centers around a fun, casual staple: gourmet artisan pizzas. They will also offer small bites, pasta and fresh, creative salads. Like sister DC small-plates restaurants LINCOLN and Teddy & The Bully Bar, Declaration’s interior design and decor includes interesting touches that pay homage to past Presidents, while introducing fun and little-known facts about this period of American history. They will be joining businesses old and new in Shaw, one of DC’s most important, historic and lively neighborhoods. The neighborhood is residential, with row houses and friendly, independent businesses. Students from nearby Howard University keep the area feeling young at heart, while great transportation links to DC’s downtown areas contribute to Shaw’s bustling atmosphere. Other Shaw attractions include the Lincoln Theater, Howard Theater, 9:30 Club, the Black Cat, Bohemian Caverns and more.
As the restaurant’s build-out unfolds, we look forward to sharing more details, menus and photography of the space at Declaration in the coming months.
